Wild Church

In 2026 we will be exploring God’s invitation to Draw Near. Meeting in the wild we will embrace Silence, Listening, Creative Worship and Prayer, Using all of our Senses and learning new ways in which we might draw near to God, knowing that His response is ALWAYS to draw near to us.

PLEASE NOTE OUR NEW MEETING TIME. We’d be grateful if you would let us know if you are planning to join us. Please bring a cup if you’d like a hot drink and a chair to relax in.

The heavens declare the glory of God, and the skies announce what his hands have made. Day after day they tell the story, night after night they tell it again. They have no speech or words, they have no voice to be heard. But their message goes out through all the world; their words go everywhere on earth.

Psalm 19:1-4 (New Century Version)

For many of us connecting with God is far easier outdoors, lost in the midst of creation, for as this verse states God’s glory and character are on display to us through all we see, hear, taste, smell and touch.

If asked to describe a moment where we sensed God’s glory, power and presence, many of us would describe a time outside, watching the sunrise, an eagle soaring on the thermals, a quite mountain pass, gazing up at the stars. It’s a moment when we are simply lost in the “awe and wonder” of creation, a “thin place” where the distance between heaven and earth is at it’s thinnest.

What is Wild Church?

Simply put, it is a group of people, outside in nature, taking time to “notice” God in all the world around us. It is an opportunity to join with creation in worshipping God, learning, meditating, praying and spending time together in the great outdoors. People come with an attitude of expectation and a readiness to connect with God, as we experiment and learn to connect with nature together.

Some helpful suggestions for getting the most out of your time at Wild Church

Come with an expectation to join with creation in worshipping God. Wild Church may feel different but we come with reverence as we meet together to worship our creator.

Enjoy experimenting, as we discover new ways to “notice” God in nature, drawing us closer to Him

Switch off and put away all devices. We can all be so easily distracted. Our time at Wild Church is intended to build a deeper relationship with each other and God. So we put off anything that will distract us from doing that.

Come prepared with suitable footwear (it can be muddy) and clothing.

If you would like to sit down during our time together then please bring a chair.

We will gather together and spend around an hour exploring our theme for the day. We will then eat and enjoy being together for the remainder of our time
